You earned your benefits. We'll help you understand them — and connect you with trusted partners who specialize in them.
How we help
Navigating VA benefits can be overwhelming — disability compensation, pension, healthcare, education, home loans, burial benefits and survivor benefits each have their own rules. Guardian Protection's role is simple: we help you understand where insurance fits, and we connect you with trusted partners who specialize in veteran benefits.
- Introductions to vetted veteran-benefit partners
- Insurance plans designed to work alongside your VA benefits
- Survivor planning so your spouse knows what's coming — and what isn't
- SGLI/VGLI transition reviews
Important: free help is always available
You never have to pay to file a VA claim. Accredited Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) such as the American Legion, VFW and DAV, and county veteran service officers, help veterans file claims for free. Only VA-accredited attorneys, claims agents and VSO representatives may help prepare and present VA claims. You can search accredited representatives at VA.gov.
Guardian Protection is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, does not prepare or file VA claims, and does not charge for benefit guidance.
Benefits that affect your insurance plan
| Benefit | Why it matters to your plan |
|---|---|
| SGLI / VGLI | Coverage ends 120 days after separation unless converted; VGLI premiums rise with age. |
| VA burial benefits | Help with burial costs but typically don't cover a full funeral; final expense coverage fills the gap. |
| Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) | A monthly benefit for eligible survivors; knowing whether your family qualifies changes how much life insurance you need. |
| VA home loan | No PMI — so mortgage protection life insurance is how you protect the home for your family. |
